Food Items that a Vegan Can Eat




Nowadays, more and more people are becoming Vegan. But the problem starts when they have to think about what they can include in their Vegan Diet and what not. For those who don’t know what Vegan Diet or Veganism is, so the Vegan diet includes only the plant-based food item. It will not include any food item made or extracted from Animals. And that is why for a Vegan, it is a little bit difficult to decide their diet plan.

So, to simplify your problem, we are here sharing with you the list of food items, which all the vegans can include in their diet. You can decide what to add in your Diet as per the nutrition requirement. Fruits – 

Fruits have always been considered as the healthy food item no matter whether you are a Vegan or Vegetarian or Non-Vegetarian. And this is one of the essential food items for the Vegans. They are easily available anywhere in the world. So, there is no problem even if you are traveling around the world, you will not have to worry. You can include fruits like banana, pineapple, apple, melons, oranges, strawberries, grapes, etc. in your Vegan Diet.


Vegetables – 

Now the next on the list is vegetables. And you have a huge list of vegetables which you can include in your Vegan Diet. From our childhood, we have been told that if you want to be healthy include green vegetables in your diet. Even you can take the vegetables which you can eat raw. There are different vegetables with the different nutritional value available. You can include vegetables like broccoli, kale, corn, cucumber, zucchini, green vegetables, mushrooms, peas, onion, ginger, garlic, tomato, cauliflowers, etc. in your Vegan Diet.

Milk-Sources – 

Now, this is something which all vegans are thinking about that how they will fulfill their dairy requirement with the non-dairy products. So, here is the sources of different types of milk which a Vegan can include in their diet. Like Almond Milk, Coconut Milk, Soy Milk, Rice Milk, Flax Milk, Cashew Milk, etc. And you can use all these milk for different purposes also like for coffee, tea, shakes, smoothies, baking, etc. One more added benefit to these sources of milk is that they have different flavors also. And some of these sources of milk can also give you a good protein nutrition also like Soy Milk.

Meat Substitutes – Yes, you heard it right. The Vegan Diet do have meat substitutes also which are not at all the animal products. So, in case if you miss eating your non-veg diet and want to stick to the Vegan Diet, then you can add these meat substitutes in your Vegan Diet List. There are some food items made of soybean which can be used as the meat substitute like tofu, tempeh, etc. These can be used as the substitute for the meat and the fish food. They both have a good amount of nutrients present in them. And just like meat, you can cook them in different ways.

Legumes – Now if you feel that, you are lacking protein sources then here you go. Adding different legumes which are rich in protein can help in fulfilling your protein requirement. Chickpeas, lentils, kidney beans, black beans, etc. can be added in the Vegan Diet. They will make for a healthy breakfast also and for a healthy lunch also. And they are healthy for even those also who are following a weight loss diet.

Nuts & Seeds – The healthy nuts and seeds are a food for all. Whether take it as a snack or add it to any dish, they are a complete nutrition package. You can include nuts and seeds like Cashews, Almonds, Pecans, Walnut, Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, etc. in your Vegan Diet. These nuts and seeds are rich in different vitamins and minerals. And that is why they make a place in your Vegan Diet.
